Insight+
Insight+ is a multi-client collaboration platform for authorities and public companies. It offers stakeholders in the public sector a shared digital basis for strategic project work.
On behalf of New Mobility Solutions Hamburg GmbH, a subsidiary of Hamburger Hochbahn AG, we completely redesigned the UX/UI of the web-based application and integrated it into a contemporary look and feel.
How can strategic administrative knowledge be made understandable, accessible, and usable? New Mobility Solutions aims to answer this question with the web-based collaboration platform Insight+, offering public sector stakeholders a shared digital platform for strategic collaboration.
Developed in close cooperation with Appbase Hamburg, which have been responsible for the technical design and implementation of the application, Insight+ is a central building block on the path to open, networked administration.
With the relaunch, the platform was given a new name: “insight” stands for overview and (information) depth, while the “+” primarily refers to the collaborative approach. The branding, which we also developed, is based on a central blue tone in its functional clarity, which, in combination with typography optimized for readability on screens, is part of a flexibly usable design system.
Since the application was also planned as a white label solution from the very beginning, we took this aspect into account as well: by changing the central blue tone, the UI can be easily adapted to any other corporate design.
During the several-month conception phase, concrete use cases were developed, prototyped, and iteratively refined in collaboration with stakeholders and power users. The goal was to create a user experience that structures the many complex contents without restricting them and offers users orientation in a dynamic, often heterogeneous project environment.
The Insight+ user interface is functional, clear, and minimalistic. A modular layout and clearly defined components facilitate use across different organizations. Interactive maps, filters, infographics, and structured content areas support both operational tasks and strategic decision-making processes.
In addition to the internal platform, a publicly accessible interface was also developed for use on touch tables. This allows citizens to interactively learn about projects and measures in their city.
The application uses the same database as the main system and makes strategic information intuitively accessible. Insight+ thus also becomes an instrument for transparency and participation in the public sphere.
